Structure and Functions of Liver


Liver is largest gland. it secrete bile juice. liver is divided into 2 lobes. in each lobe, there are several lobules. known as hepatic lobules which are structural and functional units of liver. in each hepatic lobule there is central vein in which blood drain. at each angle of hepatic lobule there is 4 ducts. know as portal tetraid. 

Liver play key role in metabolism of proteins, carbohydrates, fats
it has imp role in deamination and detoxification.
it act as thermoregulatory organ, erythropoetic organ in child. erythroclastic organ in adult
