Larynx is a cartilaginous box which helps in sound production, hence called the voice box. Wall of the larynx is supported by nine cartilages. Thyroid, cricoid and epiglottis are the unpaired cartilages, whereas coniculate cartilages, arytenoids and cuneiform cartilages are the paired cartilages.
